Vice President - Christine Prescott

Christine studied Equine Science at Centenary College and William Woods University. She was selected to compete with Centenary’s national championship interscholastic dressage team. She has successfully ridden hunt seat, western, saddle seat and dressage. Christine has worked at a variety of different farms – CEM Quarantine Barns, breeding farms, and show barns, bringing a diverse background of experience to Sucaro Ridge, where she now works full time, helping Judy Pirtle, teaching and attending to the boarders needs. Christine is also a certified science teacher for grades 6 to 12, and was a middle school teacher prior to signing on at Sucaro ridge.
As far as family goes, along with an assortment of rescued dogs, a cat, and a patient husband, she currently has Roland, a 15 y.o. Dutch Warmblood, and Willy, a 5 y.o. Dutch Warmblood in training with Judy Pirtle. However her best production to date has been her new daughter, Margie Anne, who was born this last January. Secretary - Amy Cohen

Amy is employed as an Administrative Assistant and Technical Writer for Smartronix, Inc., an IT company based in Maryland. She is mother to Will, wife to David, and caregiver to three pups. Dressage is her passion, along with Alabama football. She currently owns 2 horses—Victory Times, a 7 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding, and Felix, a 14 year old Holsteiner gelding.

Amy currently shows at Training Level with Victory and this past season had wonderful outings at Poplar Place and the Good Horseman’s Dressage Shows in Conyers, Georgia. They are students of Judy Pirtle and Christine Prescott, both who have been instrumental in our success. They hope to debut at First Level this spring but their long term goal is to steadily move up the levels! Amy says her horses are her therapy and bring much joy to her life, which is also enriched by her fellow “horsey” friends! Being involved in the club will enable her to keep up these connections and help build the up opportunities and support for her favorite sport in the area. Her attention to detail means she is well suited for the position of secretary.

Treasurer - Beth A. Taylor

Forty one years young, a 1991 DVM graduate from Texas A&M University, and married since 1991, Beth has been a dressage enthusiast since 1996. She gained her veterinary equine rehabilitation therapist certification in 2006, and  opened Double T Farm, LLC to horse boarding 2007.  She has been an active member of the USDF and Alabama GMO's:  BDCTA, MADCTA & TVDCTA for many years.  Like most adult amateurs she is still trying to develop her harmony with the horse. Beth enjoys all educational activities that involve the horse. While she says her mathematical, accounting and business sense have all gained through life experience and she has no formal training in these fields, we are confident she will be able to navigate a course through these waters for the MADCTA.
