Welcome to 2008!! With the new year comes BIG changes for MADCTA! We applogize for the collective silence of the leadership but we assure you that big things are in the works. We will soon be releasing our schedule of 2008 events and look forward to seeing everyone out and about. Below you will find a letter from our new president, Lorna Aho. She has big plans and expectations for MADCTA in the coming year and we need everyone to make it happen! Please read Lorna's letter and let any of the board members know if you have ideas for activities or would just like to help.

MADCTA 2008 to 2010 Plans

Short Term Goals

In my opinion the actions of the Club should provide benefit to both the members and the DCTA community, with knock on economic benefits to the horse industry support services. I would like the question “why should I be a member” to be redundant by the end of 2010. It should be obvious that the club supports and generates economic benefit to the community by making it fun and easy to participate in club sponsored activities. The club should provide opportunities, that would not otherwise be available, by underwriting ventures both financially and with its human resources – it should do more than individuals alone, can do.

1) To provide activities and opportunities to the DCTA community, with specific and obvious benefits to our members.

2) To run as a professional and business like organization, with all Board Members and Officers to be held accountable for their actions, and how they reflect on the organizations image

3) To be aware of our resources and assets (both physical and human) and to commit to invest in them and not squander them. .

4) To improve our image and the perceptions of the club, in the local community.

5) To create and maintain an accessible corporate record and memory.

Long Term Goal

To support the economic development of the horse oriented community, for the mutual benefit of those involved in the local DCTA community, today (similar to that found in Aiken or Southern Pines).
